Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System cyber security, today announces that Trek Bicycle Corporation has opted to defend its critical information with Darktrace’s innovative, self-learning technology.

Trek is one of the world’s largest bicycle companies, and produces more bikes in the United States than any other company. Since its inception in 1975, Trek has become a multinational corporation with an extended network of offices, stores, distributors and manufacturing facilities in 90 countries.

As a leading manufacturer of high-quality bicycle components and technologies, Trek manufactures many of cycling’s biggest brand names, and considers the protection of its intellectual property and designs to be of paramount importance. In order to remain at the forefront of the industry, Trek has selected Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System to equip it against rapidly-evolving cyber-threats.

Powered by machine learning developed by mathematicians from the University of Cambridge, the Enterprise Immune System monitors every user and device within a network to establish a ‘pattern of life’. During a four-week Proof of Value, Darktrace demonstrated its ability to detect novel cyber-threats in Trek’s digital infrastructure and is now fully deployed across the organization. Trek now has full visibility of its global network and is able to identify emerging abnormal behaviors, as they occur.

“As a multinational business, it is crucial that we are able to protect the individuality and integrity of our brand, including intellectual property and customer data,” said Dane Sandersen, Global Security Director at Trek. “Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System has given us peace of mind that we are well-equipped to defend against today’s sophisticated attacks.”
